
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Garifuna Heritage Foundation has said it remains committed to preserving the country’s rich cultural heritage.
Representative from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Garifuna Heritage Foundation, Arsenio Mathews reiterated this position during the annual Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Obelisk in Dorsetshire Hill on National Heroes Day. The event was, held under the theme :
“Appreciating Our Identity, Preserving Our Heritage with Pride.”
Mathews said the sense of identity is what shapes a nation’s path to development and the Garifuna Heritage Foundation remains committed to teaching Vincentians about their cultural makeup.

Mathews said since 2001 the Garifuna Heritage Foundation has been teaching Vincentians about their heritage and he pledged that this work will continue to ensure that this country’s rich history is known and appreciated by all citizens.
