Speaking in Parliament about considerations to amend the laws for the proposed closed season for the replenishment of conch, Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar said that due to the challenges faced with conch, prior to Hurricane Beryl, the closed season is still justified.
Minister Caesar noted that technicians will perform dives this week to repeat a survey first done by the Blue Marine Foundation, so that the Ministry can compare information on the presence of conch in different geographic spaces.
The Minister added that this will impact whether the closed season for conch will be extended.
