The Awards Ceremony for the 2023 Layou Village Football Championship took place at the Layou Playing Field yesterday afterenoon.
Kobe Maingott of Texier Road was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Championship and the MVP of the Final.
Erel Hector of Cashville scored 8 goals to head the goal-scoring Table. Wendell Cuffy of Texier Road was adjudged the Best Midfielder, while the Best Defender Award went to Javon Billingy of Buccament.
Anthony Lewis of Texier Road was named the Best Goalkeeper. Lazaro Lynch of Plan was the youngest player in the Championship,and Layou Masters won the Award as the Most Disciplined Team.
Champions, Texier Road received EC$1,000.00 plus the Championship Trophy. 2nd was Cashville who collected EC$600.00 and a Trophy, and 3rd placed Buccament collected EC$400.00 and a Trophy.
8 teams took part in the Championship which was sponsored by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation.
