The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Indian Heritage Foundation (SVGIHF) said it held very successful discussions with Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves during a meeting last week.
President of the Foundation Junior Bacchus told NBC News this meeting was held following the Prime Minister’s inclusion of Cheryl Rodriguez, Treasurer of the Foundation, on his official visit to India in September 2019.
Mr. Bacchus said during the visit to India the Foundation was able to participate in a number of high level discussions which will benefit people of Indian descent in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He said the meeting with the Prime Minister last week, was also held to discuss the way forward and to hand over a report from the foundation on its successes as part of the visit.
Mr. Bacchus said the Foundation will be implementing a programme to enable persons of Indian descent in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to visit their ancestral homeland.
