Anticipation is high for the Sixth Annual School’s Garifuna Folk Festival, set to take place tomorrow at the Victoria Park.
Officer in Administrative Control at the Department of Culture, Maxine Browne, said some twenty-five Primary and Secondary Schools will participate in this year’s festival.
Miss Browne said tomorrow’s program will include an award ceremony and a mini fashion show highlighting aspects of Garifuna clothing.
The School’s Garifuna Folk Festival will be held to coincide with the 7th International Garifuna Conference.
It’s a collaborative effort of the Garifuna Heritage Foundation, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture, and will be held with the theme: Children of Chatoyer, Fruits of our Heritage.
