A Community Development Practitioners Workshop was held here today, to focus on improving inclusive Disaster Risk Management through strengthened Community-based Organizations.
The workshop was hosted jointly by the Ministry of National Mobilization and Social Development and the Caribbean Development Bank.
The session was held at the National Emergency Management Organisation {NEMO} Conference Room, began at 8:30 this morning.
Organizers said this is the first of two Workshops to build the capacity of Community-Based Organizations on Organisational Management and pursuing funding.
Today’s opening ceremony will be addressed by Minister of National Mobilization, Frederick Stephenson; Permanent Secretary, Nerissa Gittens-McMillan, and Project Manager, UWI Seismic Research Centre, St. Augustine, Trinidad, Monique Johnson.
The second workshop will be held at the Methodist Church Hall, on Wednesday, February 12th, beginning at 8:30 am
The opening ceremony at this Workshop will include addresses from Minister of National Mobilization, Frederick Stephenson; Permanent Secretary, Nerissa Gittens-McMillan; National Coordinator of the UNDP Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Program, Tasheka Haynes-Bobb and Alternate Canadian Director to the Caribbean Development Bank, Matthew Straub.
