The United Arab Emirates UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to assist with this country’s Renewable Energy Project.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is among several Caribbean Countries to benefit for US$105 million, under the UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves announced on Sunday that the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development confirmed the allocation of the funds at the Tenth Session of the IRENA Assembly.
He said the funds will be used for a Renewable Energy Project in Bequia.
Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment Luke Browne and Deputy Director of the Energy Unit, Lance Peters, are attending the World Future Energy Summit which opened on Monday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The four-day event includes exhibition and forum programs addressing energy, solar, water, waste and smart cities.
Organizers say over 30-thousand people are attending the Summit from 170 countries.
