The Sustainable Grenadines Incorporated (SUSGREN) is currently hosting the 8th Meeting of the Grenadines Network of Marine Protected Areas (MPA’s).
To coincide with the meeting SUSGREN is also hosting a Community Researcher Program Workshop from today March 11th to Wednesday 13th at the Fisheries Conference Room in Kingstown.
Executive Director of SUSGREN, Orisha Joseph told NBC News, the program is being held with funding from the United States Fish and Wildlife Services, under a project titled: Empowering Community Participation in Marine Protected Areas, Monitoring and Stewardship in the Grenadines.
Advisor to SUSGREN on Marine Protected Areas Science, Emma Doyle said they are hoping that the Belizeans can share best practices with Vincentians, during this week’s workshop.
Miss Doyle said SUSGREN is continuing to promote the issue of sustainable livelihoods and how Vincentians can duplicate a very successful model that is already in place in Belize.
