The Garifuna Heritage Foundation is inviting students from throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines to experience aspects of the Vincentian cultural heritage, as it hosts a number of activities from this week.
The National Heroes and Heritage Month activities will commence tomorrow Wednesday March 6th, with a Cassava Food Competition at the Kingstown Technical Institute, commencing at 8AM.
This will be followed by the 5th Annual School’s Garifuna Folk Festival to be held on Friday March 8th at the Victoria Park, commencing at 9AM.
It will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, under the theme “Windward Meets Kingstown”.
Senior Education Officer, Aldia Gumbs-Dyer, said the Ministry of Education is partnering with the Garifuna Heritage Foundation to promote this aspect of the Vincentian heritage.
