Regional delegates are expected to gather here next month, for the 2nd Caribbean Ministerial School Safety Forum, to be hosted by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Forum is being co-ordinated by the Ministry of Education, in close collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency {CDEMA}, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund {UNICEF}, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization {UNESCO} and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States {OECS}.
The Forum, scheduled for April 29th and 30th, is primarily targeting Officials in the Ministry of Education; Technical Advisors; and National Disaster Management Agencies.
Secretary General for the National Commission of UNESCO, Janeel Henry-Rose said the Forum is being held to respond to the need for a collaborative and co-ordinated approach among actors in the region’s education sector.
During the Forum, participants will contribute to CDEMA’s Regional Comprehensive Disaster Management Strategy and Programming Framework 2014-2024.
