Education Minister, Jimmy Prince, said over 140 million dollars of the 2019 National Budget has been allocated to the Ministry of Education to finance its various developmental programmes.
Contributing to the debate on the 2019 National Budget in parliament on Wednesday, Minister Prince said the government recognizes education as a key strategy in the fight against poverty.
He said the allocation will fund the extensive work programme of the various departments of the ministry of education.
Minister Prince said efforts are also being made to ensure that the education system remains relevant and the government continues to put the necessary infrastructure in place to facilitate learning.
