The AIDS Secretariat in the Ministry of Health has disclosed that 39 new HIV/AIDS infections have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines so far this year.
Word of this came from Azonya Vanloo-Morris, Assistant to the Director at the AIDS Secretariat, during NBC’s Face to Face programme ahead of last Saturday’s observance of World AIDS Day.
The day was observed under the theme: “Know your status”.
Mrs.Vanloo-Morris said over 1,500 cases of the disease have been recorded here since it was first detected in St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Mrs. Vanloo-Morris said figures suggest that the majority of persons affected by the disease are young adults.
