Matters relating to the Juvenile Justice Reform project will be discussed today at a Regional Meeting at the Beachcombers Hotel.
The Organisation for Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission is hosting its Regional Advisory Group meeting for the Juvenile Justice Reform Program (Phase 2) today.
The strategic focus of this meeting is aligned to the main goal of the second phase of the program which is geared towards reducing the number of youth in conflict with the law by way of improved rehabilitation and reintegration practices.
A release from the Ministry of National Mobilization said the objectives of the meeting are to provide a status update on program and the implementation of the annual work plan; as well as describe the challenges and lessons learnt in project implementation;
The meeting will also seek to introduce the Project Implementation Committee (PIC) – a firm with the required expertise to facilitate the implementation of juvenile justice reform activities across member states; and develop strategies to improve effectiveness of juvenile reform among the OECS member states.
The Meeting is scheduled to begin at eight this morning at the Beachcombers Hotel.
