The inaugural Madungo Festival will be hosted here next week by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Arrowroot Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing.
The Association says the Festival is being organized as part of this country’s 39th Anniversary celebrations, and will be held under the theme: Eat what you grow, eat what you know, lets go with Madungo.
The Festival is set to take place on Independence Day, October 27, from 10:00 am at the Chatoyer National Park, Rabacca.
The event will showcase the various uses of arrowroot starch, which include, madungo dumplings (fried and baked), foongi in fish broth and other food items.
There will also be a cultural presentation by “Tago” and other performers.
