The National Emergency Management Organization will host a high level Consultation here today, on Advancing Multi Hazard Early Warning Systems in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Consultation will be held at Frenches House, from 8:30 this morning.
NEMO says it has been receiving assistance from the United Nations Development Program UNDP, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and DIPECHO in advancing the Early Warning Systems to be more holistic, robust and sustainable.
With the co-operation of various national technical experts in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and assistance from the Government of Cuba, the road map for Advancing Multi – Hazard Early Warning Systems in St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been completed and will be discussed at this consultation.
Today’s opening ceremony will include addresses from Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves; Director of NEMO Michelle Forbes; Deputy Director of CDEMA, Elizabeth Riley and UNDP Resident Representative for the OECS, Chisa Mikami.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on NBC Radio.
