Following last week’s workshop which focused on re-integrating Mental Health into the Primary Health Care System, the Ministry of Health will begin the process of data collection to ensure a smooth flow to the process.
This was revealed by Acting Senior Nursing Officer at the Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre, Sister Elizabeth Medford following the conclusion of the first phase of the training program last week.
It was sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
Sister Medford says the workshop was held as part of efforts to scale up Mental Health services for low and middle income countries and the participants from last week’s program will now begin the data collection in their different districts.
Close to 100 participants from throughout the country were trained during the last week’s three-day Seminar.
