Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is attending the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, which opened in New York yesterday.
The Prime Minister will also be involved in several meetings apart from the official events at the United Nations UN.
Today, Dr. Gonsalves is hosting a luncheon for some thirty Ambassadors from the Group of Latin America and the Caribbean.
He said he will use that time to campaign for SVG candidacy as a non-permanent member on the UN Security Council.
Dr. Gonsalves will also be a speaker at the high-level meeting of heads of government on the matter of non-communicable diseases.
The Prime Minister has also accepted an invitation from the president of South Africa, to attend an event commemorating the 100 Birthday of Nelson Mandela, Gonsalves will also be a speaker at that event.
The Prime Minister will also meet with several other heads of government who have asked for discussions to be held.
The Prime Minister is being accompanied by his wife Mrs. Eloise Gonsalves; Finance Minister – Camilo Gonsalves and Health Minister Luke Browne.
