Cultural Heritage in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be the focus of a Teacher’s workshop to be hosted tomorrow by the Garifuna Heritage Foundation and the Ministry of Education.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Niall Finneran, Programme Leader in the Master of Arts Degree in Cultural Heritage and Resource Management at the University of Winchester, United Kingdom.
The session will target History and Social Studies at Secondary Schools with the aim of developing resources for researching local History and Heritage.
The Teachers will be given an in-depth look at topics ranging from mapping memory, text-board exhibition, making it local and working with people-oral- history.
Dr. Finneran’s areas of expertise include Historical Archaeology in the Caribbean and South-Western England, Maritime and Nautical Archaeology and Eth-nography and Cultural Heritage Management.
The workshop is scheduled to take place tomorrow Friday 14th September at the Fisheries Conference Room, will be preceded by a short opening ceremony beginning at 9 in the morning.
