Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar, has confirmed that a review is being carried out by the Pesticides Board of certain types of Pesticides here.
Minister Caesar had announced last month that an immediate suspension had been placed on the importation of pesticides which contain the active ingredient gly-phosate, which is found in pesticides such as Round-Up, Touchdown and Glyphos
Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, Minister Caesar said the decision was taken following a review carried out by the Pesticides Board.
The Agriculture Minister said the Ministry will be conducting a full chemical analysis of the Products, with support from the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute, the FAO and IICA.
