The stage is set for the hosting of the 13th KCCU National Dance Festival which begins tonight under the theme “Let’s Dance”.
Dance Development Officer in the Ministry of Culture, Maxine Maverne Browne said the festival, will begin on Saturday with the Preliminary Competitions.
She said these competitions will lead up to the grand finale and Awards Ceremony scheduled for Saturday October 6.
Ms. Browne said some fifteen groups will participate in this year’s National Dance Festival, which seeks to provide that platform where Dancers get the opportunity to showcase their dance skills.
The opening ceremony takes place at the Memorial Hall, beginning at 7:30 this evening.
There will be addresses by Minister of Culture, Cecil McKie; Dance Development Officer, Maxine Maverne Browne; and President of the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union, Cynthia Hope-Browne.
