St. Vincent and the Grenadines will join with other Caricom member states in observing Caribbean Wellness Day on Saturday September 8th.
Inaugurated in 2008, the day’s observance is an annual event which provides an opportunity to increase the awareness of the non-communicable diseases (NCDs) burden in the Caribbean.
Caribbean Wellness Day 2018 focuses on adults and bears the theme, Healthy Communities: Preserving the Workforce.
Speaking on NBC’s Face to Face programme this morning, Health Educator, Harvey Farrell, said the overall aim is to promote healthy living throughout the region.
Mr. Farrell said Caribbean Wellness Day was established by the CARICOM Heads of Summit on Chronic Diseases in Trinidad and Tobago in September 2007, in response to the high incidence of NCD’s.
