Vincentians have been urged to make a greater effort to eat healthy and to stop blaming their unhealthy eating practices on the high cost of foods.
The appeal came from Nutrition Consultant, Joyce Burgin, during NBC’s Face to Face programme this week, which focused on issues relating to the proper nutrition of children, as they return to school on Monday.
Miss Burgin said while some foods may be expensive, every individual must take responsibility for their own health. She also noted that efforts must be made to minimize the exposure of children to harmful substances such as alcohol.
