The newly appointed President of the Caribbean Court of Justice, CCJ, Vincentian Justice Adrian Saunders, said he is confident of his capacity to perform effectively in his new role.
Justice Saunders is currently in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for a special ceremonial sitting of the CCJ, slated for tomorrow.
Justice Saunders said there has been a significant increase in the number of cases presented to the CCJ.
Tomorrow’s ceremonial sitting of the Caribbean Court of Justice at the High Court in Kingstown will be held to commemorate Justice Saunders elevation to the office of CCJ President.
The session, will be moderated by CCJ Judge, Justice David Hayton and Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, will head the list of speakers who will pay tribute to Justice Saunders.
Other speakers include Justice Dame Janice Pereira, DBE, Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court; Jaundy Martin, Attorney General of St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Jomo Thomas, Speaker of the House, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Mr. Reginald Armour, SC, Chairman of the Council of Legal Education, will make his presentation by video.
The special sitting will be broadcast live on NBC Radio.
