The Curriculum Development Unit in the Ministry of Education said efforts are being made to provide the necessary training for teachers as part of the government’s thrust towards Inclusive Education.
Representative of the Special Needs Department in the Ministry of Education, Netta Tomas said Teachers are encouraged to seek training in this area as well as encourage students to be more empathetic of children with physical or mental disabilities
Senior Education Officer for Early Childhood Education, Gwyneth Cambridge, said more must be done to remove the stigma associate with development problems.
