St. Vincent and the Grenadines was among Commonwealth countries in the region which received a visit this week from Commonwealth Secretary General Dame Patricia Scotland.
Dame Patricia visited St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday April 30th, to discuss implementation of outcomes from last week’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
While here, Dame Scotland said there needs to be a more regenerative approach towards dealing with Climate Change and a pronounced increase in violent storms, floods, drought, desertification and devastating sea level rises are the realities that many people across the Commonwealth wake up to every day.
Hence she said she has been working hard to address climate change.
Dame Patricia said, following discussions, the Commonwealth was able to come up with a solution to climate change, in the form of a regenerative model of development and that unity is important in order for climate change mitigation to be achieved.
