The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is collaborating with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and the and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) to host a National Consultation Among Social Partners On The ECCU Growth Dialogue Action Plan.
During today’s consultation, Ken Morris, Senior Economist in the Ministry of Finance, stated that the program was made possible through an agreement among regional Finance Ministers at a meeting a July of this year.
He said the dialogue is important as they seek to get the input of everyone going forward to foster Economic Growth. He added that for some time the region has been challenged in having strong economic growth and it is their belief that growth can be achieved on a national level if all stakeholders get to play a part in the way forward.
Also addressing the consultation was Daniel Arthurton, Advisor at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), who noted that the ECCB was taking the lead in these consultations because it is their duty to facilitate balanced growth in the region.
