The local Police Force is making progress, as it works along with the Solid Waste Management Unit at the Central Water and Sewerage Authority and the Ministry of Health, to address the issue of derelict vehicles throughout the country.
While speaking on the On The Beat program aired on NBC Radio on Monday night, Station Sergeant Henry Providence of the Police Traffic Department, said any vehicle that appears to be abandoned without a valid license for a long time is considered a derelict vehicle.
Following the conclusion of the Carnival celebrations, the Police embarked on a campaign with the Solid Waste Management Unit to remove derelict vehicles from across the country.
Station Sergeant Providence is appealing to the owners of abandoned vehicles to have them removed from the sides of roads and other areas where they create a problem for members of the public.
