Road work continues on the Spring Village public road in a project that involves road realignment and a new bridge construction.
Brent Bailey, Chief Engineer in the Ministry of Transport and Works said the new bridge is higher than that of the one it replaces, therefore road realignment is necessary so it can be motorable.
The project is being funded by grant financing through the Government of Mexico at a cost of some five million U. S. dollars.
Mr. Bailey said significant amount of river defense work was completed with a road and bridge elevation of approximately five feet.
