The Government of the Republic of China on Taiwan will hand over ten School Buses to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, during an official ceremony on Monday.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves had announced at a News Conference earlier this month, that the 10 buses had arrived in time for the start of the new school term in September.
He explained that the 10 buses will be leased to persons to operate and transport children in several routes at the opening of school on Monday September 4th
Persons wishing to lease the school buses had until Monday August 21st to submit “expressions of interest for the lease of School buses” to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government.
Meanwhile, Monday’s handing over ceremony will also feature the launch of 24 pieces of agricultural machinery, under a special project in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will deliver the Feature Address and there will also be an address by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China on Taiwan, Ambassador Der-li Liu.
Other addresses will come from Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation, Saboto Caesar; and Minister of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government, Hon. Julian Francis.
The handing over ceremony takes place on Monday, August 28, at the E.T. Joshua Parking Lot at 3 p.m.
It will be broadcasted live on NBC Radio.
