The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is appealing to members of the public to pay close attention to the regular weather bulletins issued by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services to always be informed about weather conditions in the country.
This appeal was made by Michelle Forbes, Acting Director of NEMO, as the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season continues.
Miss Forbes said they also started some work on the Grenadine island of Union Island focusing on Tsunami Hazards and this will continue during the Hurricane season as they seek to have everyone prepared for all types of disasters.
She said the authentic source for information relating to natural disasters is the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services and she is encouraging everyone to pay close attention to the information issued by the Met Office at all times.
