South Rivers United defeated Progressive Youths of Georgetown 2-1 yesterday afternoon in the Hairoun Diamonds Football Championships at the Diamonds Playing Field.
Ainsley Lockhart netted for South Rivers United, who benefitted from an own goal scored by Progressive Youths of Georgetown.
The goal for Progressive Youths of Georgetown was scored by Alex Adams.
Meanwhile, SV United of Georgetown and Youngsters FC of Barrouallie will meet in today’s match at 4.30 pm also at the Diamonds Playing Field.
Humble Lions (1) advanced to the League Final of the National Lotteries Authority/FLOW/Hairoun/COMPUTEC/Kirk DaSilva/RUFF-I Sound System Marriaqua Football Championships following a 2-1 win over Pride and Joy (1) in the 1st semi-final at the Cane End Playing Field yesterday.
Cane End Gunners will meet Marriaqua Future Stars in the 2nd League semi-final this afternoon at half past four also at the Cane End Playing Field.
The Championships are scheduled to close on Sunday.
