Deborah Charles, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, has expressed concern over the spate of violence in the Ottley Hall community in recent weeks.
Last Thursday 11th May, the community was thrown into a state of shock after the death of omnibus driver, Andy Garrick.
Mr. Garrick succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries at around 11:00pm Thursday. His death followed that of Shamelle Bowens who was killed in similar circumstances three weeks ago.
In a statement, Senator Charles said she is saddened to learn of the recent spate of violence in the West Kingstown area, and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims.
The Senator said the incidents appear to be isolated from the broader community, targeting a few individuals and she expressed the hope that the law enforcement authorities do their job to ensure that justice is served.
