Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has promised that the Modern Medical Complex in Georgetown will be completed soon.
A release from the API states that at a handing over ceremony of medical equipment to the Georgetown Hospital last Thursday, the Prime Minister pointed out that despite limitations, the facilities have improved markedly, and a wider range of services is being offered there.
He said one million dollars has been released for the continued construction of the Georgetown Hospital, which is the first Smart Hospital in the OECS.
The Georgetown Modern Medical Complex is being constructed at a cost of over 20 million EC dollars by the Governments of Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Complex is made up of Surgical, Dialysis and Outpatient Units.
Services that will be provided upon completion include: Renal Dialysis for adults and children, Intensive Care, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Ultrasound, Laboratory and General Medical and Surgical Consultations.
