This morning, the Marrriaqua United Friendly Society (BUNPAN) handed over a cheque valued at five thousand dollars to the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) towards the relief efforts to assist persons affected by the Trough System.
Margaret Clarke, General Manager of the BUN PAN handed over the cheque to Michelle Forbes, Acting Director of NEMO, to assist persons affected by the Trough System which impacted St. Vincent and the Grenadines on November 28 and 29.
The System produced heavy showers, resulting in flooding and landslides in several areas, mainly to the North East and North West of mainland St. Vincent, leaving one hundred and eighty six (186) persons in shelters.
The Handing over ceremony was held at NEMO’S Conference Room.
