Today, Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves visited one hundred and sixty persons at the Sandy Bay Primary School Emergency Shelter, whose homes were damaged earlier this week during the passage of a Trough.
The visit came as part of the Prime Minister’s Tour to the Windward side of the country, to assess the damage to the affected areas.
Speaking at the Lady Jane Bridge at Rabbaca which also received damage, the Prime Minister said a significant amount of work will have to be done to restore the Bridge to its normal state.
He said the government will soon release the total sum which will be spent for works from the disasters in September right up to this week.
Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves also visited the Rabacca Bridge that withstood the Trough.
During today’s tour the Prime Minister also visited the London/Sandy Bay Cemetery which was damaged, the Bailey Bridge at Mount Young which was washed away along with a house damaged in that area, the Orange Bridge and various areas of Sandy Bay which received damages to roads and infrastructure.
