Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies are the 2016 ECGC SVG Community College Inter Divisional Netball Champions. They defeated the Division of Teacher Education Team (1) 19-15 in Friday’s Final at the College Campus Courts at Villa.
Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies led 5-3 at the end of the first quarter. It was all tied up at 7-7 at the end of the second quarter, before the new champions pulled away 14-11 at the end of the third period to finally win 19-15.
The Division of Teacher Education Team (2) won the third place playoff by default, as Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies could only field four players.
In the prize giving ceremony that followed, Britney Medica of Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies received the Best Shooter Award, Akira Samuel the best Defensive Player Award, Macey Deshong the Best Mid Court Player Award and Zomora Fraser the MVP of the Final Award. Year One Technical and Vocational Education were adjudged the Most Disciplined team.
The next event on the College’ sports calendar is the Individuals Open Tennis Tournament, slated to begin on Wednesday 30th November.
