Eighteen (18) year old J-ranie Baptiste of Sandy Bay is currently in Police Custody as a Patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for the murder of Pamela Williams – a 50 year old Retired Nurse of Kingstown Park.
During a media Conference held this afternoon, at the Police headquarters Colin John, Deputy Commissioner of Police said that Williams is one of the Four (4) victims – killed within a three hour time span, between 11 pm and 1:45 am Sunday 13th to Monday 14th November 2016. He said that according to Local Police Officials all four Victims have experienced similar injuries.
The other victims are 30 year old Nicholas Layne of Campden Park and 75 year old Avis Israel, a Retired Nurse along with her son 47 year old Ronald Israel.
In response to a question by the media – Deputy Commissioner John told Journalists that on previous occasions Mr. Baptist had come to the attention of the police for a number of crimes adding that there has not been any indication of a connection between the suspect and the other victims.
Deputy Commissioner John said that despite the murders Vincentians must be assured that St. Vincent and the Grenadines remains a safe haven.
He noted that the Police will be continuing their patrols throughout the country and disclosed that another incident had occurred this morning.
As the year comes to a close, the deaths of the four individuals brings the murder count to 31 for the year 2016.
Meanwhile, Police Officials noted that this morning, 30-year-old Keon Scott of Glen, who escaped custody at the Serious Offences Court on Friday, turned himself in to the Authorities accompanied by his lawyer Dr. Linton Lewis. Scott, is facing charges of possession of firearm and ammunition.
