The Salvation Army is aiming to raise $115,000.00 during its Annual Christmas Kettle Appeal.
This morning, the Charity Organization launched its activity at Postal Corporation Gallery in Kingstown.
Monty Maule, Methodist Minister, delivered the Keynote Address and recognized the tremendous contribution of the Salvation Army in assisting needy persons here over the years. He highlighted their persistence to cater for the poor and needy year after year and said that their faithfulness in this regard is obvious.
Minister Maule used the opportunity to challenge the Vincentian population to assist the less fortunate because the problem of hunger and needy in our midst needs to be addressed.
The launch also featured performances from the Aunty Nicole and Salvation Army Pre-Schools as well as Hechford Woodley and Company.
Salvation Army Volunteers with their Red Kettles and jingling bells will be placed at strategic points during the Christmas season to collect donations from the public.
