Skippers, Zeandre Browne, Eltino Bynoe, and Dainelio Bynoe took the honours in yesterday’s Independence Anniversary Maria’s Café Youth Sailing Event in Port Elizabeth Harbour, Bequia.
Browne, from Union Vale, skippered Shannaloo to win the 17-foot Local Craft Double Enders Race with Rean Ollivierre from Paget Farm second in Y-Knot.
Eltino Bynoe of Paget Farm, skippered his Boat to victory in the Opti Advanced Class for beginners. Jaheam Ollivierre of Paget Farm was second.
The Benjamin Class for the first timers was won by Dainelio Bynoe of Paget Farm, with T’ evaughn Blucher from Union Vale finishing second.
25 Youth Sailors whose ages ranged from 5 to 8 competed in the three Sailboat Classes.
Winds of between 5 and 8 miles per hour restricted the Youth Sailors to 3 Races in each Class.
These first and second place winners will participate in the St. Lucia Youth Regatta in April neat year.
