The government will soon be constructing a Bridge to replace the 40-year-old Bailey Bridge in the Spring Village area.
The official ground breaking ceremony took place this afternoon for the Cumberland Main Bridge Construction Project.
Hudson Nedd, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Works, said the Disaster Response Project is being carried out with assistance from the Government of Mexico.
Mr. Nedd said the project will cost approximately five million dollars and is being managed by the United Nations Office for Project Services.
