Today, the General Employees Cooperative Credit Union (GECCU) presented bursaries to three of its members to aid in the pursuance of their tertiary-level education.
The recipients, Kim Joshua, Shadique Gill and Daneilia Lewis, were presented with bursaries amounting to three thousand EC dollars each, at an official ceremony at GECCU’s office this morning.
Kelvin Pompey, President of GECCU, said today’s presentation is another indication of GECCU’s continued commitment to educational development.
He stated that since 1982 and to date they have expedited in excess of 2.5 million dollars in the granting of scholarships and bursaries. Around 2014 they have expanded and formalized their tertiary education scholarship bursary programme.
Mr. Pompey said the bursary programme is complemented by a number of other education initiatives at GECCU.
