Luke Browne, Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment is appealing to Vincentians to make an effort to familiarize themselves with the signs and symptoms of Mental Illness, so that they can refer others to receive medical assistance.
The appeal was made during an address to mark World Mental Health Day which was observed on Monday October 10th under the theme: Dignity in Mental Health-Psychological & Mental Health First Aid for All.
Minister Browne said a number of persons may be struggling with Mental Health issues and are not aware of this. He said the Ministry of Health is taking steps to ensure that they receive the medical assistance which they need at our soon to be re-opened Psychiatric Hospital in communities and elsewhere.
