As part of activities to celebrate World Food Day 2016, there will be a National Agricultural Exhibition held on Friday October 14th at the Heritage Square in Kingstown. World Food Day will be observed on Sunday, October 16th.
This year’s global message for World Food Day 2016 by the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) is, “Climate is changing. Food and agriculture must too.”
Leroy Jackson, Agriculture Instructor in the Ministry of Agriculture, said the exhibition seeks to showcase local agro-products.
Mr. Jackson said emphasis will also be placed on highlighting the work of the various agricultural cooperatives in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
