The staging of the Fourth Annual Literary Fair will be held October 13th to 15th to highlight a number of Notable Writers. It will be held at the UWI Open Campus under the theme “Vincy – Read and Write”.
President of the Vincentian Association of Artists, Writers and Producers, Rene Baptiste said that Literary Fair provides an opportunity to showcase Vincentian talent in the Literary, Visual and Performing Art Sectors of the society. The three-day event forms part of the National Independence celebrations.
This fair will exhibit of Arts and Crafts of all kinds and persons who are visual artist are encouraged to register.
The University of the West Indies Open Campus; the Vincentian Association of Artists, Writers and Producers and the National Public Library will be spearheaded be jointed in this fair.
Meanwhile, Ms. Baptiste is also on a campaign to promote Poetry and today is being observed as National Poetry Day under the theme “Messages”.
Ms. Baptiste also highlighted the outstanding work done by one of this country’s young Poets, Dillion Ollivierre who made the Queen’s Young Leader list this year and he has already made his visit.
Persons are encouraged include poems when sending messages to family, friends and colleagues today which is to help to promote the writing and reading of poetry.
