The St. Vincent Electricity Services (VINLEC) says all of its systems are in place and working ahead of the impending weather system.
Tamara Sprott, Communications Officer at VINLEC, said they continue to upgrade their systems to ensure that they are always prepared for any eventuality.
Mrs. Sprott is encouraging people to ensure their safety at all times and to be alert and aware of what is going on around them at all times.
She also outlined the protocols which they follow after the passage of a weather system: In the event of extended outages, VINLEC is required to energize hospitals, police stations, VINLEC’s Operation Facilities, the Water Authority, and Communication Services such as television, radio and telephone.
