Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Friday evening with a call for a renewed effort by the global community to tackle issues relating to climate change.
Prime Minister Gonsalves noted that while he applauded the Assembly for reaching the Paris Agreement in December last year, he stressed that the current efforts being made by the United Nations to address issues relating to climate change and funding are inadequate.
The Prime Minister noted that small island states like St. Vincent and the Grenadines continue to be adversely impacted by climate change.
