The Energy Unit and the St. Vincent Geothermal Company are advancing plans for the development of a ten to fifteen Megawatt Power Plant in the vicinity of La Soufriere Volcano.
As part of this country’s thrust towards Renewable Energy Development, the Unit will meet with all Government Agencies this Thursday to share information about the Geothermal Project, review environmental and social management plans and discuss stakeholder engagement.
The two Agencies will also host two public meetings next week on the geothermal energy project. The first meeting takes place on Saturday September 24th at the Farmer’s Training Institute, Orange Hill beginning at 2pm, and on Sunday September 25th the session will be held at the North Union Secondary School Auditorium from 3pm.
