The Forestry Department in the Ministry of Agriculture is sounding a warning to all persons who consume local fresh water aquatic life such as crayfish.
Director of Forestry Fitzgerald Providence said the seizure followed reports of a poisoning incident at the Rabacca River and the public is being warned as 10lbs of crayfish was confiscated by local Police from several persons offering them for sale.
The Forestry Department has advised persons not to purchase or consume aquatic wildlife originating from rivers and streams, unless the origin and method of harvesting can be ascertained and proven.
