Telecommunications provider Digicel came to the aid of five students as part of its Back to School Scholarship campaign.
The one-month promotion, which commenced on August 1st saw persons texting to say why their child should be awarded a Digicel scholarship. A total of three thousand dollars was donated to two primary and three secondary school students here.
The winners of the Digicel scholarships are: Kelsey Cyrus of Georgetown, a grade 5 student at the Sandy Bay Government School, Rashied Wiseman of Sharpesdale, a grade 5 student of the Kingstown Anglican School, Jonique Chambers of Barrouallie, a form 1 student at the Barrouallie Secondary School, Aucion Harris of Bequia, a form 2 student at the Bequia Seventh Day Adventist School and Alejandro Martin of Arnos Vale, a form 4 student at the St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua.
