Dragons, Hornets, Southern Stars, East Blazers, Young Duke and Wizards won matches at the weekend in the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championships at the Hard Court of the Clive Tannis Playing Field in Port Elizabeth.
In the first match of the Under-16 Best of 3 Finals, Dragons defeated Hornets 72-52. Hornets turned the table in the 2nd game beating Dragons 46-38. Sothern Stars had the better of Blazing Heat 67-51 in the semi-finals of the Second Division Knock-out. East Blazers beat Wizards 79-62 in Game 1 of the First Division Best of 5 Finals. Hornets are Under-16 Champions after beating Dragons 40-24 in Game 3 of the Best of 3 Finals, while Young Duke advanced to the Final of the second Division Knock-out after a 73-65 victory over Rising Stars in the semi-finals. In game 2 of the Best of 5 First Division Finals, Wizards won from East Blazers 63-60.
This evening at 7.30, Young Duke and Southern Stars will meet in Game 1 of the Second Division Best of 3 Finals, and at 9.30 p. m, East Blazers will oppose Wizards in Game 3 of the Best of 3 Finals of the 1st Division. The matches will be at the Hard Court of the Clive Tannis Playing Field in Port Elizabeth.
